8-inch springform pan
6-inch bowl
Baking beans
Aluminum Foil
- 1 ⅔ cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
- ¾ cup hot water
- 1½ cups cocoa powder
- 2½ cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1⅔ cups milk
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp corn starch
- ⅔ cup milk chocolate chips
- ⅔ cup white chocolate chips
- fresh fruit, marshmallows, and bread for dipping
Mix the hot water and cocoa powder together. Add the sugar, eggs, and vegetable oil and beat this mixture before stirring in the flour and baking powder. Grease the bowl and fill it with baking beans. Wrap the bowl in aluminum foil and place it upside down in the center of a tall, greased springform pan.
Pour the batter into the springform pan and bake in a preheated oven set to 350°F for 60 minutes.
Allow the chocolate cake to cool, then flip it over and carefully remove the springform pan and the bowl. Straighten the edges of the cake if needed.
Mix the heavy cream, corn starch, milk, and sweetened condensed milk and heat the mixture in a saucepan. Pour the mixture over both types of chocolate chips and stir until both chocolates are completely melted. Pour the 2 types of melted chocolate into the cake from opposite sides.
Use a wooden skewer to create patterns on the melted chocolate and serve the chocolate fondue cake with fresh fruit, marshmallows, and bread for dipping.
